How to Get Vendors to Say YES

Lost for words when reaching out to vendors?

When it comes to reaching out to a potential vendor, you have to make sure you get right to the point as to what you’re looking for in a collaboration. Here are some tips on how to craft the perfect email.

Tip 1: Tell them who you are.

When it comes to reaching out to a potential vendor, you have to make sure you get right to the point as to what you’re looking for in a collaboration. Here are some tips on how to craft the perfect email.

Tip 2: What do you want?

Tell them the reason why you are reaching out to them and ask if they want to work together. Immediately take off the table that you’re looking for anything from them. Let them know exactly what you’re interested in doing.

Tip 3: What's the catch?

State what’s in it for them and make sure you emphasize that there is no catch. This is a collaborative project. I’m looking to work with a limited number of vendors in a way that can drive business for both of us.

Tip 4: Ask for the face-to-face meeting.

Include that you are looking to meet up face-to-face and discuss things. It says a lot about you if you’re willing to have face time rather than hide behind a computer or phone. Spoken words mean more than written ones.
